Position: MSQ Coordinator
Department: Marine Safety & Quality (MSQ)

Responsibilities:
  1. Supports all quality, health, safety, security and environmental matters.
  2. Assists the his/her supervisor to follows up on the implementation of the emergency response plans, the ISM / ISPS / MLC codes, as well as of any other international or local regulations.
  3. Provides vessels with class and flag certificates necessary for trading, as instructed by the his/her supervisor.
  4. Implements the Environmental Management System (EMS) and promotes the environmental awareness of the vessels and the office personnel.
  5. Monitors that the Company’s Safety and Environmental protection systems, policies and working instructions are properly and effectively implemented.
  6. Monitors and supplies the service of alcohol meters.
  7. Arranges and follows up on fresh water and crew drug and alcohol tests.
  8. Keeps record of vessels’ logbooks and endorsements.
  9. Enters all MSQ data in the Company’s electronic system
  10. Inserts department’s invoices in the system and follows up on DAs.
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies or in a relevant field.
  2. Postgraduate degree in Maritime Studies or in a relevant field will be considered an asset.
  3. Minimum 4 year of experience at the Safety & Quality department of a shipping company.
  4. Knowledge of ISM / ISPS / MLC.
  5. Computer literate.
  6. Fluency in English.
  7. Excellent communication skills.
  8. Ability to monitor and stay abreast of developments in legislation and international requirements changes.

Position: Technical Superintendent (Cyprus-based)
Department: Technical

Reports to: General Manager
Responsibilities:
  1. Monitors classification status of each assigned vessel and ensures full compliance with new regulations and laws.
  2. Visits and evaluates vessels, in order to report their condition and ensure that they are always adequately prepared for any inspection.
  3. Prepares designated vessels for dry dock and repair specification, drafts and submits the specification to qualified bidders and analyzes and negotiates bids.
  4. Provides technical support to the personnel onboard, arranges on board third party services, class attendance, equipment maker or specialist contractors, landing and repair of equipment at shore.
  5. Monitors all technical aspects / performance of vessels’ operation including maintenance, repair, safety and environmental protection.
  6. Arranges and monitors lube oil (analysis and consumption) and bunker analysis and communicates the results to the vessels.
  7. Attends the dry docking and ensures that all works are undertaken according to specification and that the vessel is delivered in a sea worth condition ready in all respects to commence commercial trading within the approved budget and time frame.
  8. Any other task relevant to the position, as per Management’s request.
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. University degree on marine engineering / naval architecture and minimum 5 years office experience as Technical Superintendent or a Chief Engineer’s license, 3 years sea service as Chief Engineer and 2 years office experience as Technical Superintendent.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides executive and administrative support to the COO, CSO and the Commercial Team.

Position: Vessels Operator (Singapore-based)
Department: Operations & Insurance

Reports to: Operations & Insurance Director
Responsibilities:
  1. Monitors daily the performance of assigned vessels based on flag, statutory and Company’s requirements regarding speed, consumption and weather conditions.
  2. Appoints cargo or bunker surveyors and port agents and arranges various ship services. Updates position list and books, checks with agents the ship’s prospects and approves D/As.
  3. Approves hire statements or freight invoices including lay-time calculations and assists chartering (cargo quantity/stowage calculations) in describing vessel’s characteristics and authorizes C/P clauses.
  4. Checks pre-stowage plans, loading sequences, passage plans, cargo docs, LOIs, bunker requirements and authorizes bunker purchases.
  5. Issues voyage instructions, ship’s cargo holds preparation instructions and Monitors ship’s cargo holds condition and preparation.
  6. Monitors the actual day-to-day performance and financial expenditure of assigned vessels.
  7. Communicates to Masters Voyage instructions, port requirements, local regulations, cargo requirements and precautions, ship’s charter party description and applicable clauses.
  8. Liaises with the Insurance Department in handling of claims, hazardous situations, accidents and P & I involvement and informs it in case of vessel breaking International Navigation Limits and war zones.
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. Minimum Captain Class B License, 5 years sea experience on bulk carriers and 5 years office experience or University degree in shipping, chartering, economics etc. and minimum 10 years office experience in the operations department of a dry cargo shipping company.
  2. English fluency and computer (MS Office / ERP Systems) literacy.
  3. Strong cross-cultural communication skills (i.e., ability to communicate with office, crew etc.)
  4. Strong market knowledge and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities:
  1. Identifies, secures and hedges spot and forward cargoes for the company’s fleet of head owned and time chartered in vessels
  2. Understands clearly all MTM, Risk, MTM & Risk related measures, P&L, P&L related impacts and own book management
  3. Prioritizes and executes proactively daily tasks in a high-pressure environment
  4. Actively contributes to the in-house research analysis
  5. Maintains existing and builds new relationships with charterer
  6. Access profitable cargo trading opportunities.
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. University degree in Shipping, Chartering, Economics or any relevant field
  2. Minimum 10 years of experience in the freight trading desk/chartering department of a dry cargo shipping company
  3. Experience with supramax and/or panamax size vessels will be an asset
  4. Excellent command of the English language
  5. Strong knowledge and relationships on grain / minerals' movements
  6. Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
